Unlocked Signals: Vinyl UK Bass Session

Unlocked Signals is a platform focused on discovering emerging talent and creating spaces for new artists to be heard — hidden talent, unlocked.

For this first Vinyl UK Bass Session, we’re focusing on the evolution of UK bass music through breakbeat hardcore, jungle and drum & bass, exploring the connections between UK rave culture and the Jamaican sound system influence that runs through these genres.

This first session will start with Breakbeat Hardcore rather than the earlier Jamaican styles. We’re planning to bring in DJs playing Lovers Rock, Reggae and Dancehall for future editions, so we can explore those roots more directly as the series develops.
